Summer in London

Perhaps the loveliest place in London in the summer is Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. The lush green, the flowers, the cheeky squirrels. The Serpentine, the childrens playgrounds, the Peter Pan statue.

In recent years, a place of solace for me has been the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain. An engineering feat, an oblong structure with water flowing, sometimes bubbling, sometimes gushing, sometimes quietly making it's way around.

I usually walk around the fountain, sometimes sitting on the grass, allowing my equilibrium to be restored. Yesterday, as I watched the children splashing around, I felt nothing but happiness, secure in the knowledge that positive change is on the way. I don't know why, I just feel it.
