International Women's Day 2022

I haven't posted in quite some time, mainly because of the pandemic dragging on, I had a cough that kept coming back and only left me after cooking with fresh Oregano and making a tea with the leaves, info from draxe.com, Dr. Axe has great information on natural medicine.

Just as I started yet another temp job last October, my eldest sister Seeta was diagnosed with Uterine Sarcoma - a tumour in her uterine tissues - she had to endure 4 rounds of chemotherapy and last month had a hysterectomy, hoping and praying for a complete recovery but a Sarcoma is quite rare and perhaps cancer treatments for that are not so advanced or specific, I don't know, all I can do is suggest complementary therapies and pray. She lives in Scotland so I don't know when I might be able to see her.

London, at the moment, indeed the Western World is focused on how to help Ukraine defeat this current Russian invasion, President Selensky will address our House of Commons by video, later today, which is historic. I'm relieved to hear on the news that 2 humanitarian corridors have finally opened up, these poor people are suffering terribly.

But, it's the women struggling to get themselves and their children to safety that this post is dedicated to, I can't imagine the horror they are having to cope with and I do hope the UK government will allow more of them entry. These brave women won't be celebrating today, no social media posts, too busy running for their lives and bravely facing an uncertain future, with maybe nowhere to go back to if their homes have been destroyed.

How would I cope if it were me? I have no idea but I suppose you do what you have to in a situation like that, survive and flee if you can. Care for your children, even post your daughter singing a song from Frozen from a bomb shelter, so we can see their reality.

This International Women's Day, I pray that peace will return to Ukraine and the mothers and daughters, sisters and cousins, aunts and nieces, grandmothers and great grandmothers, be protected and provided for. I'm also praying for breast and uterine cancer sufferers, cervical and ovarian cancer sufferers, skin and blood cancer sufferers and all other types that particularly affect women, just for today, every other day I will pray for the men too!
